ABOUT

Welcome, Im Giani Rocha-Barnes. I am a fashion designer, multi-media artist and disabled veteran based in NYC. Currently a rising senior studying at Parsons The New School for a BFA in Fashion Design. I am constantly exploring new ideas and concepts in art. I have a strong passion for design and appreciate the love and care that is the craft of fashion. Dating back to my earlier high school days, I began selling prints at school. While developing my style and art more, I began to study visual art at Pima CC in Tucson, Arizona. This drives my interest in painting and developing patterns. Eventually during my military service I started to create a new brand that spoke to my values and my interests which would be called Machina or MXA for short. Today I develop my own patterns for fabrics and prints as well as integrating technology and print into garments (i.e. laser cutting). I am always open to work and collaborating whether that would be fashion or design.
